ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT
Civil Defence Supply Limited is a minimum risk organisation in matters adversely affecting the environment, nevertheless its Directors and Management are committed to the protection of the environment and those employed in the Company are responsible for minimising the impact they have on it.
This commitment extends to all activities, which have the potential to adversely affect the environment. The aim of Civil Defence Supply Limited is to reduce environmental harm, minimise the use of energy and other resources whilst ensuring that our sustainable development is maintained throughout the activities in which we are engaged.
We are committed to:
· Reduce and where practical eliminate any adverse impact on the environment arising from any activities of our business
· Minimise the use of energy, resources consumed and waste produced while conducting our business activities in a safe and professional manner
· Support the re-use and recycling of materials and ensure the safe and legal disposal of all waste arising from the activities of the business
· Comply with the environmental requirements of appropriate legislative bodies, other appropriate requirement to which the organisation subscribes, and our customers
· Identify the significant environmental aspects and impacts where applicable from current and relevant past activities and services and, where we have direct control or can be expected to have an influence, implement an environmental management system
· Where appropriate ensure that all staff whose work may create a significant impact upon the environment are provided with appropriate information and training and are competent in environmental matters
· Inform and train our staff in understanding and fulfilling their environmental responsibilities and those of the company
· Establish and measure environmental performance against objectives/targets
· Continually improve environmental performance.
· Ensure that everybody working for or on behalf of Civil Defence Supply Limited is aware of the content of its Environmental Policy
We acknowledge the responsibility to actively seek and encourage everyone in the participation of environmental matters and objectives.
